ASKEW Family AARON ASKEW, Lauderdale County, AL (1789-1862). Other family names on this branch are HENDRIX, WRIGHT, HOLDEN, HILL, ALEXANDER, SARRITT and others.
The Askews left Lauderdale County, AL in the late 1870's-early 1880s. Some went to Missouri then to Texas and Oklahoma. Others including my branch went directly to Oklahoma Indian Territory in the late 1870's. This branch of my family has Choctaw Indian blood and many of them are listed on the Dawes files.


DANIEL Family STEPHEN DANIEL of Massac County, IL (1781-1856). This site traces Stephen Daniel through Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky and Illinois. His descendants remain in Illinois while my branch moved to Texas in about 1858, finally ending up in Oklahoma by 1880.


WEBB family WILLIAM E. WEBB, (1801-1878). The WEBB family has deep roots in Eastern Tennessee. My branch were in many counties including Granger, Blount, McMinn, Monroe and Polk Counties. Names associated with the WEBB's are MORRISON, BURTON, NELSON, TALLENT, BEARD and others. My branch moved to Texas in about 1890 and finally settled in Oklahoma.


SMITH Family AUGUSTINE SMITH (1725-1781)This page traces the Smith Family of my tree. The roots lie in Westmoreland and Fauquier Counties in VA in the early 1700's beginning with AUGUSTINE SMITH of Fauquier County, VA. The Smiths on my side later moved to Union County, SC, Rhea County, TN, Barry County, MO, Callahan County, TX and finally to Marshall County, OK.


WRIGHT Family John Wright (1750-abt. 1820)was born in Scotland and moved from North Carolina to Lauderdale County, AL. His Son's Nicholas and John both fought in the War of 1812, serving under Andrew Jackson. Nicholas and John married sister, Barbary and Bethany JONES.
